I believe that there is a complete upgrade kit just as the smaller setups. When Pat posts in, he should be able to come up with a part# and price.

Wow, hope I can live up to the build up....
The R850 twin setup is geared for the 700+ hp level. They aren't really designed for towing, as they can be a little laggy if you aren't running big hp. The setup uses a Super B Special as the secondary charger and a modified S400 as the primary. These will flow over 1500cfm which will support 850hp on fuel only.

Will these support a 150 or 180 horse injector or do you thing it will be a little hot? I am shooting for a usable 1Khp down the road. I will be using spray when I max out my turbo combo. Does the upgrade kit come with a minifold? Could we do a custom setup with an external gate?

if you planning on building a truck to make 850 on fuel and then spray it for 1000 make sure the engine combination is set up to do so.
The 850 kit should have no issues burning 180 horse injectors. You may have to tune and play with the duration.
External gate are good to have, BD can answer the custom answer.
Good luck
tierwalker, s400 based chasis larger than the 74mm you should increase the secondary size. I'd say the super B is too small, and will generate tonnes of heat if pushed harder.

Hey, whats up TIERWALKER. Didn't really get to talk to you much at the dyno day but there will be more. Thanks for the info ONETON. What exactly do you mean by make sure the engine is set up properly? Are you refering to studs, fire ringing the head and that kind of stuff?
Thanks, Joe

The kit does come with a manifold and it will support 150 or 180hp injectors. I'll let Pat post in about an external wastegate, I don't believe that we offer one but he will know for sure.

Thanks for the info. What size injector do you think would be the limit for these twins? I plan on doing the twins, injectors, cam, and studs all at the same time. Will these turbos handle the nitros without an external gate?Sorry for all the questions I just want to do this once.
Thanks, Joe

Sorry Joe that no one has answered your other questions. I don't really have the answers for you, but I can give an opinion.....
As for the nitrous, I wouldn't worry about it. Run it !!
As for the injectors, Smokin07 and onetun would have more to say about this, as they are running F1 Flux injectors (4.4 I believe). I don't know what HP rating they are, but they are HUGE. They both are running in the 800 RWHP range on diesel only (am I correct?), so hopefully they will chime in and give their opinions on the details.
Sorry I can't answer this for you .

I saw this thread and thought I would resurrect it in an attempt to answer Joe's questions.
Malcolm Cross (24Vchevy) has an extremely well equipped and setup R-700 set running Flux 2.5s. Mine has the R-850s and Flux 3.3's. Have 10 people drive the two trucks back to back and ten out of ten will pick the R-850 setup. Including Malcolm!
You can't say it any plainer than that.
At very light throttle applications the R-700 is ever so slightly more responsive, but in traffic I still make 10psi boost before crossing an intersection.
Apply more than a couple of millimeters of throttle and the average person snaps the throttle shut in fear.....Serious. Open the throttle and the truck is very quick.
My daily drive setup is the R-850 with flux 3.3's at around 750+hp.
The 3.3's run perfectly with almost no lag and very little smoke.
I tow an extremely heavy 28 foot boat, as well as 10,000 and 14,000 pound construction trailers.
Other than drivetrain concerns towing is flawless.
OK....Seriously large injectors!
Flux 4.4's...My first ever dyno pass was at BD spring Dyno days...780 hp with the Smarty timing turned to 4 (Monster Nitrous timing) the valve lash completely screwed up...Further adjustments had me well over 800hp...I'd guess 825-850Hp.
Adding 2 tiny shots of nitrous at the track got me kicked off for not having a roll cage....1.56 second 60 foot times with 35inch rubber made for a real crowd pleaser. Never dynod it, but I would suggest the combo was good for a solid 1000hp. No real issues other than a bad injector burning a hole in #3 piston.
The Flux 4.4's rattled so obnoxiously I couldn't stand them in daily driving.
Monster Fuel....
Last year I decided to go for broke horsepower wise and spent a bag of money porting the head, stage 3 Floor-It CP3's, Flux 6.2's, a ten thousand dollar automatic trans with forged 1.5 inch input/output shafts (Hope you have lots of money!), and a pile of other goodies. In other words an easy 1000hp worth of fuel and the ability to get it to the ground
The bizarre result was a perfectly drivable truck with as good as stock idling, no (zero) injector rattle yet instantaneous explosive power and throttle response.
By explosive I mean blow the tires off while driving down the highway at 100KPH.
By blow the tires off I mean hubs locked locked and 4X4 engaged.... No BS.
My mechanic (Malcolm) did it first on a damp highway with about 2500lbs of steel in the box and almost crashed the truck!
Where the 6.2's too big for the R-850's?
Judging by the EGT's I'd say yes.
I'd recommend a max of something like Flux 5's on fuel and the 4.4's on nitrous.
Here is a vid a local Ford guy took (unknown to me) and posted of my highway driving exploits......Childish behavior, but fun!
I think the Ford Dynod around 450Hp at BD and is (by far) the fastest Ford I have ever run in to.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/I...ins_176943.htm
In the last few seconds of the vid you can see the truck squat and the motor lift the front end. There is no mistaking the moment the throttle is opened....The throttle response is off the charts. The injectors were my daily driving Flux 3.3's running minor Smarty settings only.
The 350 Z (modified) never stood a chance.
Call Malcolm at (250) 758-8210.
He can tell you more than anyone about these things. He races the NHRDA record holding truck with the R-850's
I wasn't kidding about the quick thing!
He can set up a test drive if you are ever around the Vancouver Island area.
